The Secretary of State for Education and Skills makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 138(7) of, and paragraph 2(2) of Schedule 8 to, the School Standards and Framework Act 1998[1]. Citation, commencement and interpretation 1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Change of Category of Maintained Schools) (Amendment) (No.2) (England) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 1st August 2006. (2) In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Education (Change of Category of Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2000[2]. Amendment of the Principal Regulations 2. The Principal Regulations shall be further amended as follows. 3. In regulation 4(3), omit the word "secondary" in each place where it occurs. Regulation 4 deletes the word "secondary" each time it occurs in regulation 4(3) of the Principal Regulations with the effect that the regulation 4(3) of the Principal Regulations now applies to primary community and voluntary controlled schools as well as secondary.
